नेपालको ५ दिने भ्रमणका क्रममा चिनियाँ कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (सीपीसी) तिब्बतका सचिव वाङ चुनचङले शुक्रबार गण्डकी प्रदेशका मुख्यमन्त्री सुरेन्द्र पाण्डेसँग पोखरामा भएको भेटवार्तामा चीनले पोखरा विमानस्थलमा चीनदेखि अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय उडान सञ्चालनमा ल्याउन चिनियाँ प्राविधिक टोली पठाउने बताएका हुन् । विमानस्थल निर्माणमा सहयोग गरेपछि गण्डकी प्रदेशमा चीनको सक्रियता बढिरहँदा चीन–पोखरा नियमित सिधा उडानले प्रदेश र चीन दुवै पक्षलाई लाभ हुने गण्डकी प्रदेश मुख्यमन्त्री पाण्डेले बताए । बैठकमा सहभागी प्रदेश नीति तथा योजना आयोगका उपाध्यक्ष कृष्ण देवकोटाका अनुसार मुख्यमन्त्री पाण्डेले हवाई सेवामा पोखरा विमानस्थलमा चीनका तीन सहरबाट नियमित अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय उडान सञ्चालनका लागि अनुरोध गरेका थिए । पाण्डेले तिब्बतको ल्हासा, छेन्दु र गोन्जाउबाट पोखरामा उडान भए राम्रो हुने बताएका थिए । जवाफमा सीपीसी तिब्बतका सचिव वाङले पोखरा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विमानस्थलमा नियमित हवाई सेवा गर्न चिनियाँ पक्ष सकारात्मक रहेको र त्यसको लागि आवश्यक अध्ययन गर्न प्राविधिक टोली पठाउने बताएका हुन् । उद्घाटनकै दिन चिनियाँ राजदूतले उक्त विमानस्थल बेल
